You and your cohort will take the Strengthsfinder test, meet with a Gallup certified global Strengthsfinder coach and learn about how to capitalize on your strengths.

Goal Setting in a Post 2020 World
How do you effectively set goals in a post-2020 world? You will be empowered to set goals for your future for this program and well into your career, including looking at the uncertainty that faces us all.

Team Building with your cohort
Getting to know your fellow leaders of tomorrow is one goal for this day. You’ll learn about this series, your cohort and have fun doing it.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION AGREEMENT
I understand completion of this application does not ensure my acceptance. To graduate from Dallas/Ft. Worth Federal Leaders of Tomorrow Program (DFWFLT), the participant must be aware and commit to the following: The program consists of an initial April 5 mandatory program, 6 program sessions, and 3 coaching sessions and minor commitments outside of class. The program requires an active video and audio participation for the virtual sessions and a definite time commitment for participant and employer. If a participant cannot attend a scheduled session, they must notify the Program Chair 48 hours before the session. Members with more than one and a half sessions of absence will be dropped from the program without a tuition refund, unless the DFWFLT Series Steering Committee chairman has previously approved absences above the limit. Excused absence requests must be submitted in writing.

Event Description
Are you a good federal employee but wanting to become an extraordinary one? You know where your future lies in the federal government as an extraordinary future leader, but you need to develop a few more skills to make the next leap forward.

Well, you have come to the right place!

Come learn foundational skills to take your career to the next level. Our team of seasoned professional will collaborate with you and your cohorts to help you grow together to be the next generation of federal leaders.

This seven-part, 3-month cohort will develop you,
our Federal Leader of Tomorrow, in several key foundational areas. Through a combination of small group discussions, experiential learning, and one-on-one coaching you will learn to develop and implement key attributes as a future federal leader. These include:

• Interview skills and Resume writing
• Applying Emotional Intelligence into your personal leadership portfolio
• Goal setting and implementation
• Professional networking to benefit you and your organization
• Understanding and implementing excellent written communication skills

In this cohort, you will also gain valuable insights into your own leadership style and ability through the leadership assessment, Strengthsfinder.

All classes are from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with 60 minutes for lunch. They will be held virtually. All attendees must have their camera and microphone on during the sessions. 3 coaching sessions (scheduled outside of class time) are available for all participants. One will focus on the Strengthsfinder results; one will be resume review and one is on the topic of your choice.

Get-to-know-you meetings with class members, pre-work, evaluations, and other outside of class time is required. (On average less than an hour a week.)

April 5 class will be from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. to include team building.

Leading one of the country’s foremost training and strategic planning companies, he helps shape some of the largest and fastest growing companies in the world, as well as non-profits that are producing profound outcomes.

Dan Langdon is a seasoned speaker, teacher, manager, and mentor. With over 25 years’ experience speaking to groups of all sizes, Dan’s career has been spent training, coaching, and mentoring young and old alike to both communicate and relate well with others.

Having spent 10 years overseas in both Scotland and Japan, he has varied and extensive experience aiding both individuals and organizations in their move from stuck, to vision, to reality.

He has coordinated international campaigns, directed domestic youth programs, managed medical organizations and professionals, and shepherded countless individuals in the classroom, on the field, and through their everyday lives.

Joel Osborn is a global certified Strengthsfinder coach. His insightfulness into the Strengthsfinder inventory makes him a sought-after coach.

After graduating with two undergraduate degrees, he then received a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma, College of Law.

Chris Zervas helps leaders improve their communication, leadership, and employee engagement to impact their organization’s bottom line.

He is the author of the book, Bomb-Proof Constructive Feedback, and received his master’s degree in Communication from Wheaton College after graduating from the University of Oklahoma as a student/athlete.

He has served two college communication faculties, worked in fundraising for over 10 years and has been trained in conflict resolution by the Administrative office of the courts of the Supreme Court of Oklahoma.
